Currently, when talking about the quality of education, it will be closely linked with youth. Because the progress of a country will be determined by the quality of education while the future of a country is in the hands of the younger generation. Young generation or youth play an important role in change and improvement, according to the pearls of Ir. Soekarno "Give me 1,000 parents; undoubtedly I will pull the semeru from its roots. Give me 10 young men will undoubtedly shake the world ". Examples of figures who contributed to education in the past, namely Ki Hajar Dewantara and Budi Oetomo.
One of the things that can be done by youth in improving the quality of education is to break the policy that is considered not appropriate. Young people must be critical and think radically or to their roots with the policies imposed and do not accept the policy unanimously without being reviewed first. Young people can give ideas that can make the quality of education better.
The real example is a young boy named Andri Rizki Son from Medan. Youth
who care about education system in Indonesia. The young man who is usually
called Rizki is an activist in education as well as founder of Yayasan Pemimpin
Anak Bangsa Foundation (YPAB) and became a consultant at the Baker and Makenzie
law firm.
Rizki's breakthrough begins with his concern for the National
Examination system that makes the form of a cheat system from the teacher to
the students just for the students to graduate. While still in junior high
school, Rizki had protested his teacher after the National Examination took
place due to dishonesty that is preferred. Criticism raised by Rizki makes him
ostracized in the school environment. While in high school, Rizki felt
depressed and finally decided to quit school. Then Rizki created his own
learning pattern which he named Unschooling.
Unschooling is an educational path without institutions, while the
source of learning he searches himself from various sources, such as books and
the internet. This system uses the package system exam. Unfortunately, due to
the diploma package (in Indonesian called Ijazah), Rizki had to go to college
with various conditions. One takes the placement exam in the form of an
academic exam and an IQ test. And he did. This young boy's breakthrough in
education delivered him in 2007; he was accepted as a student at the Faculty of
Law of the University of Indonesia and became the best graduate at the age of
20 in 2011.
Rizki's breakthrough is an example that can make the quality of
education better, especially in order to no more cheat system just because for
all students to graduate. But the aspect of honesty should be prioritized in
order to create a better quality of education.
The quality of education cannot be separated with young people, the
quality of education in the hands of young people and can affect the progress
of a nation. Because youth is essentially a pioneer in improving the quality of
education. Ki Hajar Dewantara and Budi Oetomo are examples of young people who
contributed in the past in the field of education. While in the present, one of
the things that can be done by young people is to make a breakthrough and be
critical and think to the roots of policies that are not appropriate. As did
Andri Rizki Putra. Which can be an example in improving the quality of
education.
